On sunday I had a bit of a lazy start. I woke up around 7:30 but descided to go back to sleep for a little longer. I woke back up at 13:30 haha, guess I needed the sleep. I had lunch in my room, relaxed a bit and did some chores. I wanted to go to chinatown today so I didn't want to go too early anyway since I figured it would look nicer when it was already dark outside.
I headed to the non-chinatown part of Yokohama first, these are streets filled with small boutiques and stores. I found a store that had food from all over the world and bought some 'Jules Destrooper' cookies to give to Joy at the end of my internship. I brought chocolates but most of them got a little damaged during the trip and I didn't want to give her a broken box of something. I also got some côté d'or chocolate for myself. 😋They have chocolate and chocolate-flavoured things here in Japan but they honestly suck! Everytime I have gotten something chocolate flavoured it's been a dissapointment haha, I guess thats the bad side of being used to eating the best chocolate in the world 😅
Japan is kinda known for crazy overpriced 'premium' produce but I had never seen tomatoes packed up like pralines. These tomatoes were a bit out of my budget (35 euro) but I guess they do look really good?!
Going to Chinatown wasn't very hard, you could see and hear it from a mile away. I enjoyed it so much, it was the perfect neigbourhood for me. Food, lights, cosy vibes and a lot of nice people! The temple was one of the first things I ran into, it was so pretty and shiny! I didn't go inside because a lot of people were praying and I didn't want to interrupt but the outside alone was more than worth it!
After walking around for a bit and enjoying the vibe in this place, I descided to get some food. I went with pan fried Xiao Long Bao (chinese soup dumplings) and a korean corndog that was filled with mozarella cheese!

Misschien moet je overwegen om een foodblog te starten daar. 😊
