Today I went to Asakusa, one of the oldest neigborhoods in Tokyo that is known for the iconic SensoJi Temple. (the oldes temple in Tokyo) It is an amazing neigborhood but also a very touristy one. The first thing I saw when I got out of the station was this Jinrikisha. This is one of those typical tourist attractions that locals would never take part in anymore but tourists love it.
I didn't need google maps to find the temple, the amount of tourists and shops led me to it. It was so so beautifull!
I walked around and just enjoyed the views and the peacefull vibe that was going on. Then I spotted a whole streetfood market on the side of the temple. I ofcourse got some food and it was amazing!
I had a grilled beef stick that had rice on the inside and was covered in bbq sauce. And I also tried my first daifuku!! (a mochi that is filled with a cream filling and a strawberry) This had been on my list to try for so long but I wanted the first one to be a really good one, and trust me, it was!
After walking around a bit more and buying some souvenirs I got pretty cold so I went across the street to the tourist center building that had a café with an amazing view over tokyo tower and the whole temple site. I stayed up there until sunset and it was soo beautifull!
After sunset I tried going to kitchen street to buy my mom a knife but everything was already closed. So I went for some ramen at a chain restaurant and it was insane! I sat next to an older Australian couple and we were just talking non-stop. I let them try some of my gyoza because they had never tried them?! I couldn't imagine coming to Japan and not having gyoza 😂
After dinner, I took the metro back to the house and called it a day. See you tomorrow!

No life without gyoza for you. 😅
