I cannot believe that this internship is going so quick! I have very mixed emotions because I'm exited to see the people I miss again but I am so so happy here. The people I've met here have been the most incredible of friends and colleagues and I will miss them so much!
The school really fits in my vision of teaching and I feel like they have the things I was missing in the Belgian education system. Freedom, Experiencing things, Playbased learning, Kids being your partner as much as they are your students.
I started the self improvement method with 2 kids this week. Starting from our idols, we created 6 focus points that we want to improve on in the next 2 weeks.
The 2 girls have been soo motivated to do it! I feel like a big part of this is because I am doing it with them instead of for them. They chose their own improval focus and have been rating themselves. I'm just there to guide and observe. The homeroom teachers already mentioned the improvement and I can even see improvement for the other girls in their friendgroup too! They are helping each other to be better instead of worse and that is exactly what I wanted to see.
The rest of the week was pretty much like usual. But on Thursday we had sportsday, it was so exiting! Wednesday evening I went shopping with Angie because I was team green and I didn't have any green shirts. We also stopped at the starbucks roastery and meguro river, the river was so pretty since it had Sakura trees along the side.
I got a green shirt and Angie found her red one. We also got matching socks.
Sportsday was so much fun! Teachers didn't have to compete or really be active. Since every game had a referee that lead the game. All we had to do was make sure our team was in the right place at the right time and cheer them on as hard as we could! And if you know me and Joy even a little bit, you sure know we did cheer as loud as we could!!
It was a beautiful day and the weather was amazing! So after sportsday, we went out to the park with some drinks and snacks and just talked. I was gonna head home but Angie convinced me and Joy to go get dinner at a Chinese restaurant we all really like.
Friday is a whole new story so I'll make a seperate blog about that. Another incredible week at Aoba and I am so so sad that next week will be my last week :(

You already were a great teacher but this experience and the things you've learned will make you even better. So happy for you that you ended up in this team. What a wonderful place to be an intern. <3
